BankLint

Terms of service

The terms for using BankLint during its public beta, in plain language. Last updated 2026-10-20.

Who provides BankLint

BankLint is built and run by Tan Gravam in the Netherlands. Contact: tan.gravam@gravam.com. Business registration and VAT details: legal review.

The service

BankLint checks ISO 20022 pain.001 payment files against the ISO 20022 schema and the SEPA Credit Transfer rules it publishes in its rule reference, and in a Flow compares each new file with a file you made its baseline.

BankLint is in public beta: features, rules and limits can change. Rule packs are versioned, so a past result always keeps the rules it was checked against.

What a result means

  • Results come from deterministic rules based on published standards. They are advice to help you check a file, not a promise that a bank accepts it.
  • Your bank’s file specification and its decision on a file always take precedence. Banks may apply their own variants of the SEPA guidelines that BankLint does not check.
  • BankLint never sends, approves or executes payments. You remain responsible for the files you send to your bank and for authorising payments.

Your files and data

Uploaded files are processed in memory and not stored. Signed-in checks keep a sanitized result: findings and facts without names, accounts or amounts. How data is handled, by whom and where is described on Security and in the Privacy notice. You can ask for an export or deletion of your workspace data at any time.

Plans, billing and cancellation

  • Free: file checks without an account; signed in, check history and one Flow with a baseline and comparison.
  • BankLint Payments Assurance: €49 per month per workspace, billed monthly in advance through Stripe on Stripe-hosted pages. It adds up to 100 active Flows and Ask BankLint AI explanations. BankLint never receives your card details.
  • Cancel any time in Settings (Manage billing). The plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for; the workspace then returns to the Free plan. Your history and evidence stay readable.
  • If a payment fails, the workspace keeps full access for a short grace period. After that it becomes read-only until the invoice is paid: nothing is deleted.
  • If the price changes, the new price applies from a later billing period, and you can cancel before it does. Refunds and taxes: legal review.

Acceptable use

  • Upload only files you are allowed to process.
  • Do not try to get around access controls or rate limits, test BankLint’s security without permission, or send traffic meant to overload the service. Report security issues to tan.gravam@gravam.com instead.
  • Do not use BankLint for anything unlawful.
  • Accounts or workspaces that break these rules may be suspended. Where possible you will be told why first.

Availability and liability

During the beta BankLint is provided as it is, without a guaranteed uptime. Limits of liability and governing law: legal review.
